How Self-Published Reviews Can Help You

Self-Published Reviews was created to assist the self-published author. I primarily assist the self-published author, but I also help those who have not been published yet. The service that I provide is reviewing a work and helping the author market their work. I will detail my services below:

I will accept up to five self-published works per month. If there are none, or less than five, I will review unpublished works to fill the gap. If I recieve more than five books to review during the month I will read them in the order in which they were recieved. That means that some books will be read in the following month.

Authors send their work to me along with their payment. I will read the works and then pick the winning work for the month. This winning author will recieve my prime review which is as follows:
  • Their money refunded.
  • Review and front page of SPR webpage along with dedicated review page for the life of the site. Reviews will be in depth, chapter by chapter, and will include reference notes that I write when reading the work.
  • Though I am not an editor, if you wish, I can include notes on recommendations, better flow, grammar, and spelling corrections. No extra charges will apply.
  • Review posted on Blogs I own.
  • Review posted on SPR Facebook.
  • Review posted on YouTube.
  • Review will be podcasted.
  • Review posted on places where book is featured such as Amazon, and Lulu. (Author must provide link)
  • Review posted on link of their choice.
  • If favorable review, then author will get my recommendation for traditional publishing and can use me as a reference.
  • At end of year I will review the 12 winning books on all the media available to me.
  • The winning book out of the twelve will be selected as The Self-Published Reviews Book of the Year!

Self Published Reviews

Hello. Welcome to Self Published Reviews. This is the official blog for my business. I am in the business of helping self-published authors get the exposure their works need. I do this through marketing and the reviewing process.

Not too long ago there was only one way to get published. You had to submit your work to a publishing company. They may or may not look at it depending on what kind of work you submitted, the genre, and if you had ever been published before. Most of the time you never heard back from them, and your work was sent back to you or not at all. If you had the money you would pay for an agent with mixed results.

The financial and economic climate has caused many publishing companies to be wary of new talent. Most publishers do not want to put all the money it takes to publish a work into new talent because it may or may not pay off for them.

However, there is new market emerging in self-published authors. Some of the expense of publishing a work is placed on the author. The payoff, though, can be greater for an self-published author than a traditionally published one.

There are many benefits to self-publishing: authors generally keep all rights to the work, they getting a greater percentage royalty, and they can go with another publisher at any given time. There are more opportunities to customize your work, and bring it to a wider audience if you so choose. In short, you have more control over your work, but it also means investing in your work.

You have obviously invested your time when writing your work, laboring long hours, doting on every word to make sure it was just right. You chose to self-publish. You invested more than your time, you also invested your money, and you now have a book in front of you. You felt victorious, and pride swelled within you. You now look to market your book to others and get a return on the investments you have made.

That is where Self-Published Reviews comes in.
